چکیده
IFN-γ Receptor-Ligand Binding. IFN-γ binds to receptors on the macrophage surface, initiating a cascade of events leading to an increase in MHC class II expression (1). We assume that this increase is the primary mechanism by which IFN-γ facilitates antigen presentation. To represent IFN-γ receptor-ligand binding, we use the general reaction scheme ligand + receptor ↔ complex. Other processes are likely to affect the number of IFN-γ receptor-ligand complexes on the time scales of IFN-γ treatment used experimentally, 20-36 h (2, 3). Celada et al. (4) observed that IFN-γ levels in solution decrease 13% and 83% after 4 h in the absence and presence of macrophages, respectively, indicating that appreciable levels of IFN-γ both degrade in solution and are taken up by macrophages. Therefore, in addition to representing IFN-γ receptor-ligand binding, we also represent degradation of IFN-γ in solution and within the macrophage following uptake (Eqs. 1-3).

Innate immune response plays the key role in initiating and guiding the immune response. Elucidating the innate immune related molecular events involved in the interaction between the parasite and the host will aid in the development of an effective vaccine and anti-schistosome pharmaceuticals. In this study, we examined the regulatory effect of Schistosoma japonicum soluble egg antigen (SEA) o...
متن کاملRecombinant Lipoprotein Rv1016c Derived from Mycobacterium tuberculosis Is a TLR-2 Ligand that Induces Macrophages Apoptosis and Inhibits MHC II Antigen Processing
TLR2-dependent cellular signaling in Mycobacterium tuberculosis-infected macrophages causes apoptosis and inhibits class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC-II) molecules antigen processing, leading to evasion of surveillance. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) lipoproteins are an important class of Toll-like receptor (TLR) ligand, and identified as specific components that mediate these eff...

ABSTRACT Natural Killer cells (NKs), are considered an important first line of defence and were originally defined by their ability to kill certain tumor cells and virally infected cells. Our aim is to study expression of HLA class-Ia on tumor cell lines and their susceptibility of NK cells. In this study MDA-MB-468 tumor cell line (NCB1, C208) That derived from human breast adenocarcino...

Background & Aim: The immune system is quite capable to combat tumors and many immunological parameters including cytokines such as IL-12 & IFN-γ play major roles in this regard. IL-12 is also the major cytokine responsible for the differentiation of TH1 cells, which are potent producers of IFN-γ, IFN-γ in turn has a powerful enhancing effect on the ability of phagocytes to produce IL-12 as...
متن کاملThe Jak-Stat Signaling Pathway of Interferons System: Snapshots
Interferons (IFNs) are a family of small regulatory glycoproteins that play a central role in the defense against viral infections. Although IFNs have been initially discovered as antiviral factors, today they are known as an integral part of the cytokine network that affect a wide range of biological processes. IFNs exert their pleiotropic effects through their multisubunit cell surface recept...
